THQ to publish FA Premier League STARS 2001™, Bundesliga STARS 2001™, LNF STARS 2001™ and Primera Division STARS 2001™ across Europe.

WOKING, Surrey UK, March 1, 2001 – THQ International Ltd, a division of THQ Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: THQI) and Electronic Arts (NASDAQ NMS: ERTS) today announced a multi-territory agreement providing THQ the exclusive rights to publish games based on the fast and exciting world of European Premiership football on Game Boy™ Color. The EA STARS Series will be fully localised across England, France, Germany and Spain is due out Spring 2001.

Tim Walsh, THQ’s Senior Vice President, International, commented “Football is one of the biggest sporting phenomena across Europe, and has a passionate, loyal following. The handheld EA STARS series is the perfect way to engage fans in this fantastic portable football experience.”

Garry Edwards, EA’s Business Development Manager, added, "We are delighted that THQ are releasing the EA SPORTS STARS series of products on Game Boy Color. We look forward to welcoming Game Boy Color owners to the world of STARS from EA SPORTS.”

FA Premier League STARS 2001, Bundesliga STARS 2001, LNF STARS 2001 and Primera Division STARS 2001 allow football fans in England, Germany, France and Spain respectively to recreate the 2000/2001 season in their national leagues. The STARS 2001 brand is the only official licensed set of products that contain real teams with real names of players. In-game footballers exhibit differing levels of skills as they do in real life and the game also enables players to customise leagues by selecting favourite teams to compete for the exclusive EA Cup. Additional features such as after-touch for chips and shot curling, and tactic controls for formation and line-up go to make the STARS 2001 series the most authentic football experience to date for the Game Boy Color.
